And what about a child who is unable to know how to make that choice? Because only probably around 13+ would a kid be able to decide that decision and even then they might not actually know who homosexuals are. I respect your standpoint but gay parents or not I assume most children wouldn't turn away the opportunity of a childhood for cycling through orphanages and foster parents.
Basically I'm looking towards the favor of the children because ultimately they are the most important factor in this decision. I do, however, understand that some kids may not be able to intelligently think the decision through until they are 13 or older, though.
Absolutely, I tried to think of some reasons on why they shouldn't be able to just to see if I could come up with any and I couldn't.
The adopted child might get shit from others for having homosexual parents, but we get picked on for everything we do anymore.
Saying that homosexuals shouldn't be able to adopt children could really get rid of the opportunity for those that could be really good parents.
Of course homosexuals should be allowed to adopt children. Not only that, we should be permitted to marry. For those of you who believe that the child may get bullied, consider this. I am certain every child in the world has been bullied at least once in their lifetime. It is up to the parents to teach their children how to cope with harassment. "It's not the dog's fault, it is that of the owner."
In my state we are allowed to marry the same sex, since they aren't physically able to produce kids themselves adoption should definitely be an option for them. Who are we to say that they shouldn't adopt some poor kid that probably came from a shitty home into a loving home. Just because they are into different things doesn't mean they aren't humans. So what if they get shit in school for having two moms or two dad's. Everyone got bullied in their life before. (if you say you haven't you're lying) People will grow up and get over it eventually.
I'm still not able to think of a reason why they shouldn't be able to adopt.
