This is a question that I want you to answer with complete honesty. I've seen a few people who have done so and I don't see much of a problem unless it's a member from our community. Do you think offsite scammers should be banned? If we get more of a positive vibe then I guess I'll let Philly know that you guys want them gone or maybe he'll just read the thread.

I believe that if the scam they committed has absolutely zero connection to the site, or any users on the site, then they don't deserve a ban.
If they have however had a connection to a scam against the site or a user on the site, I believe they should at the very least, be dealt with caution.

See? Fake a scam report easy af.

No, it's hard as fuck, because any old admin can waltz into your PMs and see all ingoing and outgoing PMs.

The other user would get a Staff member to go on Teamviewer to show actual logs if he disapproves of yours, and then you're fucked.

Not if you turn inside out the MD5# and the clearance level is lowered.

I don't think they SHOULD be banned, as it wasn't on the site, but I don't think it is unreasonable to warn other users about this person.

Scamming is scamming. Justifying it with "off site" exclusion is pathetic.

Well thats a lot of work, and Philly doesn't really approve any suggestions anymore. :\

I'm sure this would be veto'd

If it has absolutely nothing to do with the community whatsoever as well?

As I stated in my first point. Scamming is scamming. These community and offsite mind sets or beliefs about how it's not the same thing are pathetic and self made loop holes to make the scammers feel better. As I said before scamming I scamming and is pathetic. The details of the scam don't change anything.

It's a cop out for punks that can't afford things. You know what my vote would be if I could vote.

This is one of the stupidest rules on FK (IMO).

@Michael what is your opinion? I think that scammers are scammers. Why should it matter where you scam? If you murder someone in one state, you're still guilty in the next state lol. Scamming is scamming . Simple as that.

That's a really good example: "If you murder someone in one state, you're still guilty in the next state". My opinion is well, sitting on the fence. I don't really mind, but if it's someone from our community, I wouldn't be too happy.

Exactly! A scam is a scam, no matter how small. I feel that users who scam offsite should not be banned, but they should be stripped of their access to post in the market place, and be labeled "deal with caution".

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Why should they not get banned and only get a DwC? Theres nothing different if they were to scam here... Let them pardon for their actions and THEN maybe they can get a DwC.

I agree with this on a slight level. I don't think it should be like this though. If they didn't do it here and they are legit than they should be able to maintain a membership here.
