Just wondering, I see people paying like $200 for groups + transfer fees, what exactly can you do if you owned a group? Why would people want to join a group or pay to join one?

People want to join because it's a group, idk if people would pay, and the point of owning it is so you can't let people in it.

Owning a group can either be bad or good imo.

Its just a userbar + name and sometimes award.

People actually buy these things which is sort of sad.

In a shallow way, a group gives you a cool user bar and changes your name color.

In a more valid, less shallow way, a group is a bunch of people with (usually) a common interest which pertains to that certain group. They can be specific or less specific, like movie lovers, to overall high quality members.

A group is a fun way to have leadership on the site, while creating a place where people want to be.

So people do it for the name color and the rank?

Do groups also get their own section somewhere on the forum for private discussions?

Pretty much, I guess it makes them popular if you own a group.

Why would you pay $200 to be popular on an online forum lol.

I don't understand it either. 100$ for a group + 50$ just to get ownership granted to yourself doesn't make sense to me.

Yes they all have their own sub forum where private threads are.

+ I'd never actually pay that much for an online group, but I totally see why people would.

People who would even pay $5 for a group are sad imo, but nice idea by @Philly to earn some cash other than the 100 ads on top and 150 ads on bottom of the forum.

$5 is cheap af for a group lol, when I had mine I bought it for $115 total and sold it for $10 because I didn't care.

If you wanted to do business with a group I'd understand, but doing it so you become more 'famous' and people look up to you is just plain stupid. Just upload your car as your avatar if you want a big e-penis, I'm sure everyone who owns a car here has a car that costs more than $150.

Edit: Or your computer, house or whatever the fuck you want costs more than $150 and still gives u an image to show off.

I think it's sad when people post 800 times in less than 2 weeks.

Also people charge entry but depending how strict the group is it shows the better hq members of the site. They are about $100-$200 here on another site they sell for $4k-6k. People here don't use them fully they just use them as a userbar. If you wanted you could make services with the group ex. VPN, middleman, service, and other things.

If I buy one I plan to have a service in it might not be right away but it will happen.

Yeah, that's actually a good idea. Good luck with your services.

thanks, so far every group here I've been in is purely for the userbar. The subforums are dead a f.

@sin says it's sad but he tried his balls off to get into 4+ groups purely for e userbar.
