I personally prefer it the way OP mentioned, but too many people care UIDs here. Not sure why either, all it does is represent your member number? I don't know, seems pretty pointless to me.
I'd also like to see the elimination of special characters, also something I view as pretty pointless and that has been taken advantage of previously. I support this idea.

Plus, the way OP mentioned would be good for the site's SEO, as it's easier to search for a member's name than it is to search for their UID. Just a thought.

Thanks for the support, and i agree. most forums with special characters have people making pointless names that are hard to find along with changing their names all the time.

For all of you that were complaining about the UIDs, it could still be displayed on the profile for example, under or above the username.

I was talking about the lag usergroup image that was mentioned a few posts back. Sorry I guess I just assumed the OP was about that. lol

I would love to see this happen, but I doubt it will. UIDs would be thrown out the window, and some users paid a lot for theirs.

This would not happen because people have paid for user ID's. They would loose the money they spent, unless @Philly paid them back. And ForumKorner isnt like other forums, we like being different.

Read the post above. UIDs will be kept as well , just on the profile instead and using the name is an OPTION.
