I'm looking for new userbars, if you're willing to design some I'd be happy. Although the one you displayed is not nice, try to use the same size as the current one.

But i still don't get what people mean by 'too plain' it makes no sense, the current ones are just fucking black, what is more 'plain' than that?

There are gradients and drop shadows used, but they don't fit imo.
They should have been a solid/slight gradient onto a black userbar with crisper text.

I don't think the current ones look that bad, they go well with avatars and signatures.

Also your one is a little small and just.. Regular.
