The gamertag community has basically fucked itself in the fact that prices always are rising, but less and less people will pay them. Now youre getting more scamming and false bids from people that never follow through. Pretty much tags that are technically worth "hundreds", but nobody will pay that much for them. Kids just need to step back and realize that their "super oG" isnt gonna pull $400 like they think and pricing a semi at $150 - 175 is ridiculous. I've heard all the time "but demand is so high and supply is so low", but the fact remains that asking $300 for an internet name is ridiculous by all means and the only reason people charge it is because theyre greedy.

Anyone notice that the current tags are sitting around getting ZERO bids on them, why? Well, because most people simply cant see paying that much. The only gamertags that people can get rid of (for the most part) are ones that are traded, for other overpriced social mediums or bought by one kid with "deep pockets" aka 12 year old spending his christmas money + a little from his piggy bank for a tag.

All I'm saying is that lowering prices all around would revitalize the market and give others a good chance to pick up a tag that they like for a price that isnt heinous.

Id like to hear some opinions and thoughts!
Thanks guys

Sounds like you are broke..... No one is going to lower the prices why simply supply and demand.
I've been selling my Semi's and Decent OG's for a good chunk of change. Why sell cheaper when they sell for a lot ? that makes sense lol

I've sold tags worth over $400. Therefore your argument is invalid. Calling us tag traders who buy and sell tags 12 year old kids with Christmas money is pathetic. This isn't even in the right forum, so I'd love to hear how you rationalise me or other traders acting younger than yourself. Hit the sign-out button and stop trashing literally every sales thread in this section.

This sounds like the ranting of a poor person who wishes they had what we have.

Agreed, I've seen only two people dish out more than $400 on a tag since gamertags have been so high priced. $400 for a gamertag is extreme even if you think its worth that much.

I think the prices are very steep, but I think the people now are only buying tags they really want and will pay A LOT( I.e. 300-800$) for that one tag and not buy anything else.

I would appreciate it if you would have sex with me. I know you will get some haters, but you have my support in this thought as well.

Glad that you brought up this point. Legi0n is a good friend of mine and he happens to have many nice tags and social mediums, since your pockets are so full of wealth, hit him up for some good tags.

Tags are high because of the bannings.
If a tag is sold for a high price it basically means it won't be sold again for a higher price.

I have been selling and buying tags for about 3 years and lets just say back then, a decent og would cost you $75.

Now because there is no decent tags and what is left, Majority are owned by scammers. Demand is high, Supply is low. Get some money or GTFO!

Hell back 8 years ago, you could type four letters in all day and get almost any tag you wanted. Now, Damn near all of the ones that are ever going to be sold are banned, and OG gamertags are kind of going out you could say, since not many people own a lot of em anymore.

I'm not interested in buying his second rate xxh34dsh0txxzdxz tags. He clearly doesn't know the market and I'd be surprised if he had anything worthwhile looking at.

Not poor and ive bought and sold multiple tags. Buying and selling tags is a hobby, what is the point of charging so much for one? Sure, you might get some more money, but do you really need it that bad?

That had no relevance to my post.

The tag market is focused amoungst a limited number of people. Soon, this shit is gonna get old. I stick to HF for a good reason, that being, some sellers have some sense in what they price their tags at. Legi0n made a solid point in that the only kids who buy tags are the ones who buy/sell/trade daily with the same god damn people or scrawny skid fucks who obtain money from their parents after a recent holiday or celebration. None of their money is saved up, all of it is spent on one measily tag, which will end up being banned a month after purchase.

If I've got the funds, who cares what I spend it on? It's certainly none of your business. The same applies for anybody else buying/selling tags. The price we set is the equilibrium of supply and demand (oh shit using big economics words), so please don't tell me how to price my tags if we're getting good bids on our tags at the current prices. I assume you own a horrible tag you think is good and aren't getting any offers so you've made a rage thread.

His tags have some great value, much as the ones in your shop. A post count doesnt show the kind of tags you possess.

Also, I was never bashing anyone for selling tags that are highballed. Just makes more sense that usernames be reasonably priced since this whole market/community/whatever is progressing into a fat ole JOKE.

Your OP is a straight bash at people selling tags with a high value. I'm perfectly comfortable holding onto my tags if need be, I've got cash IRL so selling them isn't something I desperately need to accomplish.

Look back a few years ago and notice the quantity of bids that people put on tags.

Sure, you might get one or two bids on a tag and sell it for your asking price, but before there were actually bidding wars with numbers of people going after a tag for a reasonable price.

For the record, I'm gaining ZERO benefit from this and I wouldnt benefit if prices dropped either because Im keeping what I have.
