I own a Tritton AX720+ headset, and despite the times I've had to send them in for repair/replacement, I still enjoy them, and they are really good. Just my opinion, though.

Agreed.

It's the best headset as it is, but then the mixamp makes it even better; voice and game control, plus the ability to plug an iPod into the mixamp and listen to your music whilst playing etc.

I'm surprised Sennheiser's haven't been mentioned. They're on par with Astros, maybe better.
