Edit: The thing is, most gun related crimes that happen involve illegally obtained guns. If a law was passed to ban guns, this would still happen. Nothing would change other than the fact law abiding citizens couldn't own a gun. Again, this is the real world. You can't put ideas out there that would only work if everyone was a law abiding citizen.
Going back to the movie theater shooting, he legally obtained an assault rifle, a shotgun, pistols, and enough ammo to kill 10x more people.
Virginia Tech shooting:
He legally obtained a pistol and enough ammo to kill 32 people and himself.
And you don't think he would of been able to get those guns if there want an anti-gun law? Okay, lol. Guess what? Killing is again the law, look what they did. Logic.
If you restrict access to tools that allow them to commit these crimes, they are less likely to take the extra steps to get to the end result.
