Leader said:I will. I normally feel pretty shitty anyways because I mostly eat fast food. It shouldn't be much of a problem making the change, at least in that sense.
If you need help to be more disgusted by McDonalds just watch the hour documentary called supersize me.Leader said:I eat McDonalds on the daily. It's going to be a struggle.
Difficult said:Yeah hopefully you see it through, btw that video is fucked up... :L
Leader said:If we all don't support it, we can change it. Each and every person matters, because if we all have that mentality, no one will give it up.
Don't even think about changing it. Think about saving the lives of these helpless animals. I'm going to be judgmental because your logic is flawed. There is no good reason to eat meat besides 'I want to'.
Color said:That's nature, bud. No matter which way you want to put it, we're made to eat meat. That's the way the ecosystem runs. If you don't like it, do as @"cann!bal" suggested, and protest the corporations that run the industry, not meat in itself. You're not forced solely to eat processed meat either, I gaurantee if you looked hard enough, you could find meat prepared in a much more resonable method. Hell, if you wanted, you could live off hunting.
Although I would never consider doing this myself, I admire your will power, as I'd never come close if I tried. You shouldn't look down on people sho don't agree with you though, same for the other way around.
Leader said:We're not made to eat meat. Like I said, 'Humans evolved to be omnivores, meaning we can sustain ourselves healthily on both plants or animals. We do not need to have meat in our diets to live healthily.'
Color said:Yes. However, we are made to eat it. I'm not stating this in this sense that that's what we're here on earth to do, and must to survive. This is just how we are, we're designed to process both. A good balance of each is the ideal diet for our kind.
Leader said:We are not designed. We are the product of millions of years of genetic mutations and natural selections. We do not need to eat meat to have a healthy diet. We need nutrients found in meat, but they can be obtained from other source, not just meat.
Crux said:In the future people will look back at slaughterhouses and what we do to these animals and wonder why we didn't stop it.
On the other hand, without slaughterhouses these animals wouldn't even exist.
Leader said:What are you talking about? What do you mean by your last statement?
I totally agree with you as you should eat meat here and there and it won't do anything to the industry if you don't eat it. Also, I remember supersize me, everyone in my class become ANTI-MCDONALDS for 6 monthsVPN said:I respect what you're doing, as my mom is a vegetarian.
She purely doesn't eat meat because she feels bad for the animals.
I've always been fine with whatever I eat, but I'm far from okay with what happens to the animals.
As of the last 8 nearly 9 months I've been working at McDonald's, which is awkward considering how notorious they are for cruelty to animals, for those of you who remember Super size me, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
The conditions animals are going through especially in the fast food corporations is disgusting and sick, I completely know where you're coming from, but in reality, where will not eating meat get you in the long run? Instead of attempting what appears to be a boycotting of meat products, which won't do much as the marketing of meat is way to active, try to form a petition on cleaning up where the animals are stored and how they're treated.
I remember seeing the petition for sending Justin B. to Canada, why I bring that up is look how many signatures that got? Hundreds and hundreds of thousands if not a few million. If you're disgusted with unethical treatment of animals, make a petition and try to make something happen about it, I can assure you millions of people including myself are on the same boat as you, what they do to the animals is completely unethical.
Again, please keep in mind that I type this all with respect to what you're doing. I just suggest maybe taking different approaches upon the matter. Maybe get meat from certain companies/corporations, and stay away from others. There are probably several different methods one can go about staying away from such treatment to animals.
Whether you stick to it or not, I applaud you for the post.
