You can run a forum with 500+ active members 248MB of RAM.
It doesn't matter the size of the forums, it is the amount of connections at any given times.
Marketforums has no where near 500 active members during normal posting conditions.
No, it doesn't. No where near 1GB is needed.
You could easily run a forum of this size with 252MB of RAM. The member number doesn't matter when finding a host, it is the amount of members that are online connecting to the servers.
