What is a v1 tag?

The title says it all! i am hearing stuff about v1 tags being realesed and i have no idea what that means

A V1 tag is a gamertag that was created on the first edition xbox.

Just a tag that was created on the first xbox, and then never recovered on the xbox 360. So basically, it goes inactive and the rep, gamerscore are 0 and have the xbox gamerpic

A v1 is a gamertag that was created on the original xbox. They are suppose to get reset after 7 years of inactivity. There is no current way in telling when that day is. The best thing to do is send the gamertag a friend request. When you notice its gone the gamertag has been reset and it should be up for grabs. /Close Thread.
