If you're going to claim religion as your argument against something posted in here, give EVIDENCE from your followed religion's text pointing out how this is seen as immoral. Also, don't just make stupid comments like "I don't want to explain why I believe this", as it's essentially a spam post and won't aid your argument in any way, shape or form. So many of the threads in here spiral out of control due to religious vs. atheist arguments. If both sides cite their examples and explain themselves rationally, perhaps more intelligent debate can occur.

This whole thing is invalid people will do as they wish no matter what

Also no one always want's to go through the energy of citing sources etc so they just give there opinion on the subject

But I understand where you're coming from, just don't think it should be a rule.

The truth of the whole thing is there's no way to proof or disproof it so it's not even a battle worth fighting. Just stick to what you believe and keep to yourself is how I see it.

This is my issue. If you have a god that you believe in, I'm not going to force you to change your ways. I do ask though, that if participating in a debate, that if you bring in religion, qualify your arguments and cite sources and evidence, rather than using ambiguous terms and phrases.

Why are you still on this Religion thing anyways it's kind of in the past now

@Cann!bal I'll put it this way I'll do what I want, but as for laziness why not if you feel like you want to post your opinion and don't want to prove anything or don't want to type a mini essay you have the full right to do that.

The name of this section is Philosophy & Debates.


Opposing arguments are put forward, not opposing opinions. Every other definition of debate will say the same thing, that it is a formal way of arguing in which opposing arguments are put forth to persuade one to a specific side.

If it was in the past, this thread wouldn't have been made. Every day, religion is used to mask the fact that people are just stating plain opinions without evidence or rationalisation as a response to a debate topic.

I was talking about the thread I can't believe you are still stuck on that you believe one way everyone else another or they believe the same as you why are you still trying to change people lol the forum is pretty set on there beliefs

Also you say this thread as if everyone one wanted you to make it

I never 'say this thread' as if everybody wanted it made. I wanted it made, and I feel that if people follow this, intelligent conversations would actually occur. I have no fucking idea what your first paragraph says however, try rephrasing it in English.

Yes, you're so correct. The News section, obviously isn't for news. The Media and Entertainment section isn't really for videos, music, movie and TV discussion. Thus, the Philosophy & Debates section isn't for debating, it's for putting forth unsubstantiated opinions.

You have your way of thinking and believing others have the opposite view it's life.

Stop trying to change people most of us here are set in are beliefs so there's no point anyways.

I'm the most active person in this section, and from my observations, a lot of people post solely opinions in this section and it's quite annoying too.

Since I like you Cann!bal I'll post only intelligent things in this section but what I will not do is always look up and site evidence my statements will be pretty clear tho.

I'm now starting to believe that you skim read posts, and don't absorb their intent and meaning. I've never tried to persuade people to change their faith, and nor has Cann!bal. We've simply presented facts in whatever posts we've made in this section, and have asked you to DEBATE with us. If anything, his thread about why he doesn't believe in god is challenging YOU to PERSUADE HIM to change HIS beliefs. This rule is warranted in my opinion, there are a bunch of pointless posts that aren't helping discussions on each and every thread in here.

Despite it being in the spamming and trolling section, I think that thread is less useful than mine. Also, this is a DEBATE sub-forum, if you don't understand how to debate, please leave. At least you've attempted to make a valid point in your post, even if you've gone about it all wrong.
