Why blame religion for (certain) wars?

Because religion is the reason for the war, not the weapon. Religion does nothing but cause harm. I agree with most Christian dogma because it advocates good living. But other people have contradictory beliefs and different gods, so that doesn't coincide well. And trying to compromise over religion doesn't work at all, considering most religious people are close minded anyway. But yes, religion is responsible for millions of deaths one way or another.
You are wrong about saying religion is responsible millions of deaths, it's the extremists, and yes, there are extremists for every religion, that cause these deaths.wash said:

People are the reason for everything. They're responsible for their own thinking. They're responsible for what religion they choose to follow. They're responsible for the actions they take in the name of said religion. People will use anything they can think of as an excuse to ruin things, because people are messed up.

As I am speaking for the Afghanistan war.
The extreme people in the muslim section thought it was a great idea to make a landing strip in a tower.

Ok ill give you that its the extremists, because it is. But even so, the amount of evil that exists because of religious doctrine is ironic, considering what most religions try achieve is peace. Christians mistreat gays terribly, and not even the extremists, most Christians will tell you gays are abominations. Christians used to be for slavery, they truly believe God created blacks inferior to whites. And that was almost EVERY Southerner, not just the extremists. Anyways most (if most all) religious wars is because of people want to be right and change people and make there "god" the "true god." So, they fight to be right and be on the top. Also, whoever said 9/11 was caused be religion is true, but I don't think we did it for religion as we Americans are probably the least religious people in the world, but instead we did it for revenge.

Millions of lives have been lost in the name of religion. Not just wars, but religious people themselves killing others. Ever heard of the Christian Crusades? Not to mention all of the other harm it's caused. Religion is a disease.
Edit: Take the bible for example. It orders people to kill homosexuals, people who work on Subday (the sabbath) and women who have sex before they get married. Those are just 3 examples of hundreds.

Religion is the cause of many wars. For example, 9/11 started because of religion. Also, have you ever heard of the crusades and the holocaust?

I can literally bring out thousands of examples if I had to of violence justified by religion. Don't be so foolish.

So to say that religion wasn't a cause of either of these events is dishonest. Neither even would have happened without supernatural justification.
