Everyone says, 'If we make it legal, crime will decrease',
Not to be rude but,

No shit crime will be decreased, if you take something illegal and make it legal, it is not a crime anymore, therefore, if legalizing marijuana will decrease crime, might as will legalize rape, crack, meth, and every other crime out there, it will decrease crime won't it?

I don't think you understand what people mean when they say crime will decrease...

What they are saying is...You know how violent Mexican drug cartels are and how much unnecessary violence is associated with some weed deals. 60% of cartels money comes from pot...So, if you legalize it...drug cartels will have less of a reason to be as involved in the United States therefore less violent crimes. Also, the crimes associated with marijuana itself will obviously go down because it will be legal...and that keeps people out jail for harmless crimes which solves a jail overpopulation problem and police forces can focus more on crimes that actually matter. Such as the ones you posted such as rape and things of that sort.
