Yeti said:its true, the world would be worse, a lot of uneducated people believe in the peaceful viewpoints of religion, which is a +
KaineFreitas said:no because then people would lack Morales, and ethics meaning the world would be full of cold heartless people
мariσ said:Of course not, because like seriously, if I wasn't a Chtistian I would be stealing without letting and who would be watching me? But as a Christian I have to be a good person that's at least 20% of nice people because all religions asks you to be good.
Leader said:This is quite silly.
Do you seriously need the Bible to tell you what's right and what's wrong? If you do, that's sad. You should be able to have your own morals, without the Bible. Our morals come from our humanity, not from the Bible.
And lastly, do you really need someone watching you to do the right thing? You should do the right thing no matter what, religion or no religion. Someone shouldn't have to tell you that you shouldn't steal, you should already know that.
мariσ said:I know it, but religion is a push for some people. I'm trying to defend my religion because I believe it's true, don't blame me.
Leader said:What do you mean by "religion is a push for some people"?
мariσ said:Some people are pretty evil from the inside but they'd be afraid of hell so thet would act a bit better for example so at least I'm sure that religions are no problem and I respect all of them about God or not.
Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

You do not need a code dictated to you to be ethical and moral. That's an absurdity. Morals and ethics derive from human nature, not religion.
Ok? What's the point in pointing that out?Leader said:That is a quote from Steven Weinberg.
Bit said:Well said. I am an atheist, yet my moral integrity is often greater than those whom are religious.
Well, that statement used to be true anyway.
Ok? What's the point in pointing that out?
