Look at the crime rate statistics of atheists and theists. You're in for a shock.

You do not need a code dictated to you to be ethical and moral. That's an absurdity. Morals and ethics derive from human nature, not religion.

Of course not, because like seriously, if I wasn't a Chtistian I would be stealing without letting and who would be watching me? But as a Christian I have to be a good person that's at least 20% of nice people because all religions asks you to be good.

This is quite silly.

Do you seriously need the Bible to tell you what's right and what's wrong? If you do, that's sad. You should be able to have your own morals, without the Bible. Our morals come from our humanity, not from the Bible.

And lastly, do you really need someone watching you to do the right thing? You should do the right thing no matter what, religion or no religion. Someone shouldn't have to tell you that you shouldn't steal, you should already know that.

I know it, but religion is a push for some people. I'm trying to defend my religion because I believe it's true, don't blame me.

What do you mean by "religion is a push for some people"?

No one needs religion, only things they believe in you don't need "religion" for that, you should be able to make up your own religion in life with what you believe.

Some people are pretty evil from the inside but they'd be afraid of hell so thet would act a bit better for example so at least I'm sure that religions are no problem and I respect all of them about God or not.

Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

That is a quote from Steven Weinberg.

Well said. I am an atheist, yet my moral integrity is often greater than those whom are religious.

Well, that statement used to be true anyway.

Ok? What's the point in pointing that out?

I was using the quote to illustrate my point. I'm not going to just leave out the quote's author.

Personally I do believe that the world would not only be better off but we as people would be more technologically advanced. I have been taking Latin for two years now, and one of the main things I have learned this year is how Catholicism came to affect the people. One of the ways it affected the people early on is through technology. The Roman people were EXTREMELY close to discovering a steam powered engine and this discovery was stopped by the church and Higher ups on the government. Imagine if this Steam Powered engine was invented then, we would probably still be part of Rome, but we would be so much more advanced as a civilization I think.

Read About the Steam Engine Here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_technology
