Well, you guys wonder why you can't access RSBuddy.com or run the bot? Well, it's because Paris is a douche bag. He infected the PowerBot script so it blocks all commands and access to RSBuddy so he can have everyone go to his website which has been up and down for 3 days now. Paris added host files into your system to block these:

Hosts file location:
Code:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

Malicious references added to your hosts file by Powerbot:
Code:
246.137.95.225 rsbuddy.com
246.137.95.225 www.rsbuddy.com
246.137.95.225 scripts.rsbuddy.com
193.184.221.133 cdn.rsbuddy.com
193.184.221.133 rsbuddy-api.googlecode.com

To reverse the infection you can open the hosts file in a text editor like Notepad, remove the entries above, and save. There will be an official RSBuddy patch released promptly. As a fellow RuneScape botter and a community manager I am concerned for RSBuddy's members' computer security and must advise against the use of this hack tool.

I hope you guys fun and I'm sorry Paris had to upset you guys like this once again.

Credits go to Arbiter from RSBuddy.

Yes, but I've had like 3 messages from different people from RG asking about it. So, I made a thread to stop confusion. And, I already fixed it for @"Inxy" I guess xD.

Thanks for the share and Paris is a nasty person. Word is that he was behind all the powerbot hackings. Then the guy blames everything on others.

Yeah, just wait, next it will be him adding in a code to steal your account, guaranteed. So, I would stay away from PowerBot and go to RSBuddy.

You seem to have some knowledge in the area. How has he not been fined or punished? Doesn't his site violate numerous laws just like RSBOT Did. Now it's even worse though powerbot goes as far as stealing from its users.

I think he's allowed to have that malicious code in his Bot. Plus, he probably says something about how he can do whatever he wants with the code in the terms of use. And, it's all business for him. He wants people to use his bot instead of RSBuddy's. If people can't get access To RSBuddy then most people will be like "Let's go check out PowerBot then..." That's just how I am thinking of it though, it could be taken many different ways.

Ahh, I just realized I didn't leave credit where it was needed, sorry about that. And, it was Jacmob btw.

If anyone with programming experience would like to inspect the malicious code the file can be found on the official RSBot SVN (line 1550). I have also provided a cached version of the hook data available for download in case the SVN entry is removed.

I can't remember the exact law or regulation he was breaking but I'll ask the guy who was telling me last time why RSBot got shut down and why that could still happen to powerbot. (I'll let you know when I get a response since he's from another forum)

But any infecting or stealing of virtual goods is still a crime of some sort.

He could argue that it was only intended for recovering your own account purposes. Pretty much nobody reads the terms of use and if I were him, that's what I would have put into it.

No the thing I'm thinking of is a violation of coding or publishing. It's rather complicating and I didn't get it myself but the source is very credible.

Yes finally we can sue their fucking asses !!!!
AV lawyers are going to have a field day with this !!!

For all you that don't know... by gaining forced access into a secured private computer or server is completely illegal and constitutes an act of terrorism to a certain degree.

They can't take any legal action because the host is from a foreign country.
