Ignore all the other posts. Avira is not even a av.... And it sucks... Google

Im a computer wiz i have used nearly all possible av's todate i found that avira is a great product but the disadvantages are slow scans slow load ups casues by its insane requirements.
Comodo.com is the best one i have found so far which is free. Provides av , realtime , firewall , sandbox .

If you're looking forward to a free one, you can try Avast paired with MalwareBytes.
However if you don't mind paying, Eset Smart Security would be great, again paired with MalwareBytes.

I've actually used several - Kaspersky, Norton, Avira, and AVG. Currently, I'm running a free trial version of AVG 2011. I'll see how it works before deciding to purchase the official one.

I use AVG. Once my system got repeated infection. The system freezes several times and I don't know what to do. When I opened my browser or any other programs it will take more than 10 minutes to open. I was going totally mad. I consulted a Technical guy and he suggested that my system should be formatted. But I thought it would be an infection from virus. So, I scanned my entire system with AVG. Everything is gone. All my problems are solved. AVG is Good.
