I believe this a issue that needs to be addressed; I feel like we have the right to bear arms, but the founders of the constitution, did not know that guns would be of such extend and distress of our time.

The one ignorant quote I hear all the time is "guns don't kill people, people kill people.
Which is such an uneducated quote EVER

I believe that their should be some debate in congress the house and senate. And a bill must be passed that keeps it out the hands of the crazy and limit the amount of ammunition you can buy.

What's you're guys opinions?

I understand maybe owning a handgun for protection but the fact people can go out and buy fully automatic weapons is crazy.

I think that is bullshit. If they start banning guns, or not allowing certain people to buy them more than they already do I will be pissed. It's already regulated really well. Yeah crazy shit has been happening lately but its the persons fault no one elses. Even if a law passes, what are they going to do make you return all your guns? Because there is probably 9/10 houses have at least one gun in them at all times. Mine for example has 14. if a law passes to where I can no longer have my own protection, then that is bullshit.

Not to mention banning guns or regulating them more will make things WAY worse. There will be more arms dealing, and illegal weapons being sold. Not to mention untraceable guns and stuff of that sort.

When I find these two videos I watched earlier I will link you to them to make you re-think your decisions on guns.

I feel like its one of those problems where its too late to turn back. At this point we can't outlaw them because as you said there would be so many untraceable guns that it would make matters more complicated.

The only solution I can think of is to further the procedures we already take. Limit the amount one person can own. Make assault weapons illegal in all states for all people. More in-depth background checks. Make it inconvenient to be able to be able to purchase weapons by making the process longer. Limit the amount of stores you can purchase guns within a region. Have more contact with people that do sell guns, inspections more often, make it harder to attain that permit. Go back to the root of the problem. Regulate how many guns can be manufactured per 6mo/yr. Im just throwing some options out there.

I realize it is our right to own protection, but so many people are so misinformed and mentally unstable. We have so many situations where someone thought using a gun was the only way to handle a problem. There is no discipline in our country. We need to educate people.

In Switzerland everyone owns a gun. The crime rate there is almost nil. Why? You aren't going to shoot rob someone if you know they have a gun.

The average citizen shouldn't be able to own a fully automatic gun. However, owning a semi-auto or non-auto for self defense/hunting should be perfectly legal and even encouraged. If the teachers in CT had the right to carry a hidden gun like they do in Oklahoma, that shooter would have been stopped before most of this would have happened.

Also, making gun laws more strict won't help. Crazy people who do these things will get guns anyways. This shooter stole his mom's gun. It wasn't even his.

I'm sure all of you have learned about the 18th amendment which banned alcohol. Look what happened when they did that, it made things 100x worse and greatly increased criminal activity. Things are fine the way they are now and should not be fucked up because of one event.

It's not one event, there have been 4 mass murders in four years. Besides that there have been multiple public shootings.

So like not even like 50 people are going to ruin things for hundreds of millions? That's not right and it will not solve anything, just make things worse or not fix anything at all.

That is like banning airplanes because 1 out of a hundred million crash and kill 100+ people? I bet that airplanes or crashed and killed around the same amount of people that crazy people with guns have in the past four years, so why not ban that too?

It really won't make much of a difference to me, everyone will still be able to buy guns on the black market on things like the deepweb. Think of it like the prohibition of alcohol, it was banned but it still really wasn't hard to get access to. Not going to go that far into it but you get where I'm coming from.

I think it's all bullshit, althought I live in the United Kingdom, I don't find this alright to do; people will start protesting, countries which get attacked daily/reguarly need this protection, if the government/advantaged people get all the attention, where the fuck do e get to suggest something?

This pile of shit government and Barack Obama should stand up and properly do their job, which is understanding us as citizens and taking suggestions from ourselves not only them.

There has been a lot of shit going around, these crazy criminals, etc; but why now? After so much shit going on, why would they open a gun control now? If I was next to Obama now, I'd shoot that bitch sideways, he needs to own up that he isn't doing the right thing and needs to consider citizens.

In a over-all conclusion, I give half my side to each apposition, banning guns would be good in a way for health, and for childrens sake, but then on the other hand it'd be a piss take for people which are rich/targetted; they need the protection, etc.

Lol man we have like the same view on everything. I was going to post this exact thing and I saw your post. O_O

Sorry but that doesn't make sense. Pilots aren't murdering people. People don't go around crashing planes on purpose. The guy who killed those kids couldn't say it was an accident. Why does any normal citizen need a fully automatic weapon anyway?

If you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have them. Take illegal drugs as an example. They are illegal, yet so many people can easily acquire them.
Car crashes kill like 10x more people than guns (I'm pretty sure that's the number I was told), but you don't see people saying that driving should be illegal. I understand that it is tragic that some people aren't responsible enough to handle having guns, but taking away the second amendment or severely limiting the rights it gives us isn't the way to go.

I don't think anyone is saying guns should be illegal but that gun laws need to be stricter and you shouldn't be able to buy fully automatic weapons so easily.

Oh, well in that case I'm not too opposed. I'm not too knowledgeable on gun laws, I thought having fully automatic weapons was already getting banned.
