So the debate topic is: Are Gays Born Being Gay?

I personally think being a homosexual is a "learned" experience, by that I mean every human is born "straight" hypothetically, but something in their brain when their older tells them that guys look better in thongs than girls do.

And I will never understand why.

If you think someone chooses to be gay, you are quite delusional. All mammals exhibit homosexual behavior, meaning it occurs naturally. If you deny that, you're denying reality. Plus, who would choose to be ostracized from their families, hated by the majority of their country, and denied basic human rights. Gay people don't choose to be gay, just like how you don't choose to be straight.

No body chooses to be gay, just like you don't choose to be straight. To you, being attracted to females is the norm (assuming you're a heterosexual male), likewise are homosexuals attracted to the same sex. Before you argue that we are all straight growing up, let me tell you that is false in most cases. We only truly recognise our sexuality in our pre teens/pubescent stages of life, and are therefore unaware of our sexuality as a child.

For one I don't think it matters whether or not you choose to be gay. But anyway, homosexuality is not uncommon. I think like 20% of sheep show homosexual behavior, and I'm fairly certain sheep don't choose their sexual attraction.

Homosexuality is not in any way genetic, therefore it must be learned. To say you just come out gay or straight sounds quite outrageous, does it not? Given your atheist beliefs I'd expected a more scientific approach to this from you, Leader. Sounds like destiny to me, which would go against your beliefs, correct?

You have to be kidding me. Literally 45 seconds of googling will tell you the exact opposite. It's proven and accepted by biology that the 'gay gene' is one of the main reasons for homosexuality. It doesn't sound outrageous. Does the fact that you could come out with blonde hair or brown hair sound outrageous? Of course not. My reasoning is purely based on science, and yours a based purely on a religious inclination towards homophobia. It's quite possible for someone to have gay or straight, it depends on genetics and epigenetics.

I don't think people are born gay, It's all a matter of what you prefer. Like I may like wearing red shirts, but someone else likes wearing black. I like the look of the red and he likes the look of the black. I like the look of vagina, he likes the look of penis.

Also, I think people are "conditioned" to be gay, or straight. If you're around gay people your whole life, you're more likely to be gay. And vice versa. Say me, as a child, look at my parent's marriage. It seems right to be straight, right? Because everyone else is. But if I have gay parents, I may see that as right.

Keep in mind for this second paragraph, I said MAY and MORE LIKELY. Never once do I say that this is always the case.

I don't exactly see the point of having this argument anymore. Despite what some may think, you don't eagerly wake up in the morning and 'choose' to be gay. As @Leader said, I highly doubt that anyone, in their right mind, would willingly endure to suffer the ridicule, torment, scorn, and hate that is directed towards the homosexual population in our society.

I watched a documentary a few years back and some German scientists took 10 men for tests, five of them said they felt like they were born gay and five said they had gay feelings. They injected them with something that induces labor whilst a women is pregnant. The five that said they felt like they were gay showed signs of going into labor and had female hormones. The scientists come to a conclusion that you are born gay.

Obviously people arent born gay when they cant even remember the first 5 years of their life. They basically become gay on their decisions, on what they do, what people do to them. Just my opinion.

Is there any evidence or proof of this?
Pretty sure this is according to you and you have no sources.

My own thought would be it could be that they were born as gay and have gay feelings afterwards.
For this question, it's a fifty/fifty.

This is a debate. If you don't provide evidence in a debate, your claims hold no water.

Here's an easy way to rebut your claim. You can't remember the first 5 years of your life (some people can, by the way), so wouldn't you just become straight based on your decisions, etc.?
