I read the thread multiple times, and that explanation was not in the OP. Social engineering is still black-hat. That being said, Philly doesn't want black-hat activity on the site.

You must of missed where I said "Social engineering is defined as "The science of skillfully maneuvering human beings into taking action in some aspect of their lives".

That can be taken in a multitude of ways, you use social engineering from the time you first really begin to speak and form sentences.

It happens on the forum all the time, it's happening right now as I write this.

When you say read the thread, that usually mean read the OP. I wouldn't expect for there to be more information in replies, when it could have been put in the OP.

And yes, I did read that whole post. Whatever your definition of social engineering may be, others may not agree with you. The social engineering section will be full of methods like the ones you described in the original post, no matter what.

That's the definition of it, as determined by Chris Hadnagy. He wrote the book on it, he's a master of it. He's world famous. It's an amazing read, seriosuly check it out some time.

Social Engineering The Art of Human Hacking, it's 500 pages or so but well worth it.

That may be the intelligent definition, yes. However, most users won't understand this. No matter what the definition, the subforum will be filled with free pizza methods, even if that's not what you think it's meant for. Plus, it's black-hat. For those two reasons, Philly will never allow it.

Stop trying to troll, this is a suggestion thread meant to help better the forum, by not respecting that you're disrespecting all of FK, and Philly's efforts to make it a better place. Take your trolling into the proper section.

I'd like to see it, but I doubt it'll happen. Philly has been very against it I'm the past AMD for good reason. It can cause a lot of issues for the site.

I didn't read through the entire thread, I read the first page, then chose to leave my feedback.
I'm not sure what your arguement could possibly be to prove me wrong, but please do.. What you consider the definition doesn't matter. We all know what the section is meant to be, a definition won't change that.

Philly will never implement this, and it has been turned down many times.

I am in no way disrespecting your idea, because I mentioned how I respected your logic. However, it still violates the basic rules of the site. Therefore, no matter what logic you decide to implement, it will be turned down.

Not happening at least at this time, maybe in the distant future but certainly not now, or for a long time to come.
