Hope subsists long as they live. Death warrants no hope. They're dead!

False hope is all we are giving them. How do you advocate a false hope to people who are mentally lost? That's just as sick. We aren't doing enough to help these people. Once I see advancements in mental illness research, then I'll agree that they should live. Until then, why should we let them believe in something that's not there? What's next, tell them there's an afterlife in heaven?

no hope? lock them in a box of solitude instead, that should get their hopes up... not at all. these people are completely gone from reality and they are suffering. I wouldn't say that this type of execution is any worse than mercy killing.

Yea, but mental ill people are aware what is happening. A big example is
schizophrenia. The person I saw a documentary on knew what was wrong from good. Meaning instead of saying mental illness be more specific.

this isn't always true though. Dozens of convicts defined as mentally ill have been
executed because they were aware of theirs crimes. Hundreds more are unaware and are protected by international law.

I am just confused how you are unaware you killed someone. Just give me a disorder that wouldn't make you realize you killed someone.

we do kill insane murderers, as long as they understand why we are executing them. We barely attempt to understand them. Mostly this is done as closure for the circumstances family.
