What happens when we die?


No offense, but that was just an ignorant response. You say you've "seen" death many times. Well, guess what? That doesn't mean shit. You still don't know for a fact what actually happens when we die. Obviously the brain is going to shut down. And it would be scientifically impossible for an afterlife to even exist if we need to actually bring our brains with us. That's why an afterlife is religion, not science. If you believed in God (which you don't) you wouldn't be talking about the brain shutting down etc. All you really need is a soul.
(Which is going to bring you into your next argument, "there is no soul" lol)
 
This is a debate where you state your opinion. You dont need to single me out and hate on me just because i express my opinion. You argue your point and ill argue mine. Btw Its pretty ignorant to say somebody doesent believe in god.
 
No hate was involved in my comment , if you believed in God you wouldn't be debating in the first place that there wasn't an afterlife.

I've seen many people die as well, like literally right in front of my eyes. I still think there is an afterlife though.
 
I do believe in god, even tough logically i know he doesnt exist. I believe in him because I hope that one day he will prove me wrong.
 
So, believe in him because you don't want to be wrong in the end.

example;
Logically there is no way he could exist, but at the same you don't want to be wrong when judgement day comes, so you're not taking a chance of going to hell, when you could just say "I believe in God"
 
I meant what I said, dont twist my words. I doubt him because of the pain and suffering he allowed the world to be in. My logic and reasoning is the only thing that I can rely on. I pray like everyone else for god to help me in my time in need, but day after day it only gets worse. I hope that one day he will prove that I was wrong about him. That he is there watching over us. Im not afraid to die, this has been the case for a long time. Let life take its course.
 
@Cole That's the fakest thing I have ever heard. What a cowardly move, is that your view on it? If so that isn't real faith. I'm not even religious but I recognize that. If god was real, you'd be coming to hell with me. You don't have anything to worry about though, I assure you.
 

No, I was giving an example of what he was saying. If you said he doesn't exist, why would you believe in him...

My view is, we should be able to live the way we want, and not have to believe in anything, and in the end, God should determine whether or not we deserve to go to Heaven. That's my view, hate if you want.

I don't fear death and honestly just don't think about it. No one knows what happens. You never know it possibly could be a good thing not a bad thing, so there is no reason to fear it. Living your life in fear at all is no way to live. if you break a leg you break a leg, if you get hit by a car you get hit by a car. If you win 80 million dollars in the lottery, you win 80 million in the lottery. Honestly if you fear it then idk what to tell you.
 

Damn straight Philly. I have to say if someone were about to kill me though. Id fear death...
 
I believe it's just like before birth "Nothing" just blank, but I could be wrong you'll never know until you experience it for yourself.

When we die, we die. Afterlife is just a thing to make everyone not fear death as much. I am scared to die because it will hurt a lot of people and I won't be able to do a lot of things that I could if I still lived. If that makes any sense..
 
All I fear is the pain and the hurting of dying in the process...

To be honest I don't know where we go?
 
Personally I believe that there will be some sort of future for us after we die. Who knows, we may be living in some sort of dream state right now that we move on from reality to reality after we die. It's really amazing how little we know of our existence.

I don't believe it's just black for us when we die.
I feel like there will be something waiting for us, we just need to die and find out.
 
When we die is the day we die of dying because of death.
