Just my input on some of this. I'm not a religion freak or anything, I don't care for it too much, but I still believe in God.

The scientific method isn't a fictional book created by primitive men.

I don't believe everything and anything is possible. Just think about it deeply for a while. There are limits.

God said they're real though, you can't deny the word of God. Are you saying God is lying to us?

He can spend one second and prove to us he exists, just like all the other Gods could, but don't. The Christian God is no different from any other God in that sense.

But, seriously, what are we losing by following this? If anything we are just adding protection which would be big in this case. We don't even have to tell anyone we believe in it if we don't want to.

Well, I would lose my dignity for following a religion which I know is not true and is based off a fictional book. And also, I disagree with some of the teachings of the Bible.

Yes it does answer what you said. I would lose my dignity. Why does that answer need the necessity of a thought-provoking response? So you're saying only theists have given you thought-provoking response to that question? What is that thought-provoking response a theist would give to you?

They just agree with me, believing in God and religion has no consequences at all. All you said was that you don't want to lose your dignity to a fictional book, no one knows if it's fictional or not.

Most people know if it's fictional or not. As Cannibal said in the thread there is no proof that God ever exited.

The bible does not endorse or condone sodomy or any of the things you listed. It is merely a collection of these events. You also said yourself that the religion, among practically all others, is based on faith. That in itself explains why god would not reveal himself (among other reasons).

Yeah, and that just contradicts itself. He is all-loving, but vengeful and wrathful, it contradicts itself like I said.

You haven't read the Bible thoroughly enough if you think it doesn't condone those things I listed. And I didn't say anything about sodomy.

Those are two different points, although they revolve around the same premise.
